Moto Moto (2018)

Motorcycle taxis – also known as bodabodas in Kenya, okadas in Nigeria, or motos in Rwanda - are the most popular transport method in many African countries. In places where public transport is still limited, hailing a ride is typically the fastest and most economical way to commute. In Rwanda’s capital Kigali alone, an estimated 20,000 motos plough their way through the daily rush hour traffic. This short series was shot in May 2018 only months before the first trials with electric motorbikes which are meant to reduce emissions, cut fuel costs, and thereby double or even triple the average driver’s income.
